Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
No prior experience is necessary. Pole dance is a great activity for people from all movement backgrounds. Our instructors will adjust their program and adapt moves to fit your body and experience level.

For pole we recommend light and breathable clothes that you would wear exercising, such as shorts and a tank top. We encourage you to express yourself in clothing that makes you feel comfortable and confident. As you advance, certain movements need exposed skin to stick to the pole. In your first classes and classes that don't require body grip, feel free to experiment with personality and style in your clothing - leggings, sleeves, tall socks, fishnets, and more! Layers are never a bad idea.
Please avoid anything like gems or studs that could damage the poles. Please do not put on lotion before class and remove all rings and necklaces. Knee pads can be great for classes involving floorwork, but they are not necessary for your first class. For non-pole classes, we recommend comfortable workout clothes.

Pole is hard! It takes time, energy, and commitment to improve. Everyone's body is different, and everyone's pole journey will be unique. In general, we recommend training in pole at least two times a week in addition to working on flexibility and conditioning. Taking classes in a variety of styles will help you become more versatile. Private lessons can be a great tool to advance faster or to work on a specific move you’d like to improve.
We encourage you to focus on feeling good and having fun. The best way to improve at pole is by enjoying it so much that you want to do it all the time!

Heels are only required for heels choreography classes. All courses which incorporate heels-work will say so in the description. If you’ve never worn heels, we recommend starting with 6 or 7 inches and enrolling in our Heels Foundation class to help you build ankle strength and learn basic heels technique. Street heels are not allowed.
